ECSRC Announces Dates for Crowdfunding Stakeholder Engagement Sessions

Basseterre, September 19th, 2022
Since the public launch in August, the ECSRC is pleased to announce that interest in the Caribbean Development Bank-funded Crowdfunding Project has been high, and now announces the dates for its first round of three (3) stakeholder engagement sessions, scheduled for the last week of September.
The sessions commence on Tuesday September 27th at 10:00 ET, with a high-level meeting of public sector representatives, as well as key stakeholders such as the Caribbean Development Bank and OECS Commission. Access to this initial session is limited, and interested parties are welcome to contact the ECSRC to confirm eligibility.
The second session, on Wednesday September 28th at 10:00 ET, is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs that are interested in securing access to capital, and specifically how equity crowdfunding may offer alternative routes to such financing, outside of the traditional banking sector. This section is also open to business support organisations (BSOs) such as Chambers of Commerce, Investment Promotion Agencies, Manufacturers’ Associations and other industry representative bodies. Registration for this session is free, and all interested parties are encouraged to sign up using the link below, after which access will be provided to the necessary documentation.
The third session, on Thursday September 29th at 10:00 ET, is specifically geared towards potential investors and investment managers, both at home in the region, as well as those in the diaspora. This session will also address developers interested in building a crowdfunding platform for the region. Again, registration for this session is free and open to all, using the link below. On successful registration, participants will be provided with a copy of the draft Crowdfunding Rules, for review ahead of the session.
